San Francisco Strip Clubs: ‘Library After Air Raid’: On the Survival of Culture Amid the Barbarity of War

In June of 2011, I purchased a postcard reproduction of Library After Air Raid (London 1940) (depiction, following page) at Vroman’s Books in Pasadena, California, and for the duration of that year, 12 months that were as hellish and chaotic for me as the events memorialized in the anonymous photographer’s lens from 1940, that postcard was always within arm’s reach; sometimes I employed it as a book mark for books I never finished reading. When I dwelled for seven months in a roach-infested, squalid communal hotel above a seedy strip club in San Francisco’s North Beach district (formerly the infamous Barbary Coast) Library After Air Raid was Scotch-taped to the wall near my mattress.
And now, as I pen these words, the postcard hangs by a magnet on the refrigerator in the mini-kitchenette of my studio apartment in Las Vegas, Nevada. Obviously 2011 was a year of a great many migrations in my life.

San Francisco Strip Clubs: Powr-Flite Discusses: Getting Out of a Sticky Situation

The next morning, the customer called and complained that the floors were “sticky” and wanted the problem corrected as soon as possible. The cleaning crew, uncertain how this could have happened, was also unsure how to correct the problem.
According to Mike Englund, product manager for Powr-Flite, a leading manufacturer of floor care equipment, “Just the fact that the building [is situated] in the water could be a cause. High humidity can extend drying times beyond the normal 20 to 30 minutes it [normally] takes for finish to dry.”
However, Englund also says there can be other reasons for newly refinished floors to be sticky, including:
· Proper rinsing: The floor may not have been properly rinsed after application of finish. Make sure all stripper/chemical residue is removed from the floor before applying finish.

San Francisco Adult Entertainment: Judge Orders Joseph Naso to Stand Trial

The charges make Naso eligible for the death penalty if he is convicted, but Marin County Deputy District Attorney Dori Ahana declined to comment on whether prosecutors would seek capital punishment. Ahana called the judge’s decision to hold Naso for trial “appropriate.”
Naso will return to court to be arraigned on the charges on Feb. 3.
Sweet’s ruling came mid-morning at the conclusion of a preliminary hearing that began Jan. 10. The purpose of the hearing was to allow Sweet to determine whether there was enough evidence to try Naso for the murders. Naso represented himself in court throughout the hearing.
Naso is charged with killing Roxene Roggasch, 18, of Oakland, in January 1977, and Carmen Colon, 22, in Contra Costa County in August 1978. He is also accused of murdering Pamela Parsons, 38, on Sept. 19, 1993, and Tracy Tafoya, 31, in August 1994. Parsons and Tafoya were both from Yuba County. All of the women are believed to have worked as prostitutes.

Now that Zynga has gone public, Mark Pincus doesn’t need all those home.
After putting his 6-bedroom Washington Street in San Francisco home on the market for $8.9 million, Pincus has sold his primary San Francisco home at 1572 Shrader St. The house was initially listed for $2.189 but it reportedly closed escrow at $1.89 million.
Pincus is going to take a loss on the property. He reportedly purchased it for $2.85 million in 2005.
The 3-bedroom, 3-bath Cole Valley home was built in 1940 but it was recently redone to feature a glass shrouded staircase, a spa, a fire pit, views of the Golden Gate Bridge and redwood trees in the backyard.
The stripper stalker was reportedly not part of the sale. Pincus’ other home is still on the market.

Anthony Bourdain’s The Layover: Stoned Seagulls, Strippers, and Chicken — This is L.A. (A Recap)
It’s hard to believe that this is the season finale for The Layover. It seems like only yesterday that we first laid eyes on this hot mess of a show that follows Anthony Bourdain to the more pedestrian parts of the globe. So far this year, we’ve watched that motherf**king clock count down in London, Rome, San Francisco, New York, Miami, Singapore, Hong Kong, and San Francisco Did we miss a city? If so, it’s because we were bored.

Tony downs a tequila shot on a table with a clown on it. Which is amazing. Thing is – that’s not burlesque, he’s watching. That’s stripping. Burlesque dancers don’t usually grind a stripper pole while wearing a pink sequined trucker cap. And they generally don’t have perky breasts. I know I’m making a generalization, but I calls ‘em a I sees ‘em.
