A close friend of Dimebag Darrell Abbott has been found dead after she spiralled into depression following the guitarist’s murder.
Pantera and Damageplan icon Dimebag was shot on stage in December 2004, but soulmate Jill Marie Abbott never recovered from the shock, friends say.
The 40-year-old stripper’s body was found naked in Oakland, California last week, and police are continuing to investigate the circumstances.
The pair met through mutual friends in Slayer. Although they weren’t related Dimebag used to take advantage of their shared surname to tell people they were brother and sister. She dated Pantera singer Phil Anselmo for a short time when the band were together.
